Description Zenit
Field pea variety Zenit is a medium-maturing variety intended for cultivation in the Central-Black Earth region. Plants reach a height of 56 to 87 cm, have a leafless form with well-developed stipules and white flowers. Seeds are spherical with yellow cotyledons, and pods are slightly curved with a blunt apex. The vegetative period ranges from 62 to 84 days, allowing for effective use of the variety under the region's agro-technical conditions. The variety's pedigree includes lines Chernozemets and Eiffel, ensuring its adaptation and yield stability. Variety Zenit is characterized by high resistance to shattering and lodging, which significantly reduces yield losses under unfavorable weather conditions. Drought resistance is at the level of standard varieties, while lodging resistance exceeds average indicators, making it a reliable choice for farmers. Maximum yield reaches 41.2 centners per hectare, while the average yield in the region is about 20.7 centners per hectare. Protein content in the grain varies from 21.9 to 24.2%, ensuring high nutritional value of the product. Despite a range of advantages, variety Zenit is susceptible to ascochitis and root rots, and can be moderately affected by anthracnose in field conditions. To protect plants from pests, systemic insecticides are recommended, which provide effective protection against sucking and leaf-chewing insects. This approach allows preserving crop health and improving yield quality. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Voronezh region and other areas of the Central-Black Earth region, confirmed by its inclusion in the State Register.
