Nicolas is an early-maturing sugar variety of vegetable pea, characterized by high yield and excellent taste qualities. The pods are light green, slightly curved, and of medium length, containing large, juicy, and sweet marrow peas. This variety is characterized by early and uniform ripening, making it particularly attractive for cultivation and consumption.
The plant has stems of medium length, reaching 80-100 cm, and each pod contains 10 to 12 grains, the color of which varies from light green to dark green in technical maturity. Nicolas is recommended for fresh consumption and is also suitable for freezing and canning, which expands its culinary use possibilities.
Sowing seeds is done in late April to early May at a depth of 2-3 cm with row spacing of 20-30 cm. Successful cultivation requires regular care, including soil loosening, watering, and fertilization, especially during flowering and pod formation when peas need moisture. Regular harvest stimulates the formation of new pods, which contributes to increasing the overall product volume.
