Description Slavuta
The 'Slavuta' blackcurrant variety is a medium-sized Ukrainian selection shrub, characterized by high and stable yield and good winter hardiness. The bush forms from a small number of thick, upright branches with a moderate amount of thorns. Berries are large, weighing from 4.2 to 4.5 grams, oval-shaped, yellow in color with prominent veins, and have a pleasant sour-sweet taste. Fruit ripening begins in early July, and the berries remain on the bush for a long time without losing their quality.

The plant shows increased resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew and anthracnose, as well as good drought tolerance. For successful cultivation of 'Slavuta' blackcurrant, regular watering, especially during active growth, timely pruning, and thinning of the shrub to form a healthy and productive crown are recommended. The plant prefers sunny locations and thrives on chernozem soils.

'Slavuta' blackcurrant seedlings are suitable for cultivation in moderate climates and can withstand temperatures down to -25°C. The plant is self-pollinating, which simplifies care and increases yield stability. The height of a mature bush reaches 1.5–1.8 meters, and planting should be spaced approximately 80 cm apart. Thanks to its qualities and low maintenance requirements, 'Slavuta' blackcurrant is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking delicious and large berries with minimal care.
