SNEGYANA

The 'Snegiyana' gooseberry is a popular late-maturing variety bred in Russia. The bushes are of medium height with a compact canopy and medium shoot-forming ability. A distinctive feature of the variety is the low number of thorns, which are located only on the lower part of the shoots, are short and solitary. Saplings begin to bear fruit in the second year after planting, which allows for a relatively quick harvest.


The gooseberry 'Snegiyana' berries have an oval-pumpkin shape and a yellowish-green color with a waxy coating. The fruits have a thick skin and an average weight of about 4-5 grams. The taste of the berries is sour-sweet, with pronounced tenderness and a slight sourness, making them very aromatic and pleasant to eat. The fruit stalk is long, thin, and green. The berries are well preserved after harvesting and withstand transportation well, which is an important advantage for commercial cultivation.


The variety is distinguished by high frost resistance, withstanding temperatures down to -32°C, as well as drought and heat resistance. It is undemanding in care and well adapted to unstable climatic conditions with harsh winters. Disease resistance is at the level of standard varieties, which facilitates cultivation and harvest. The yield per bush is from 4 to 6 kilograms, which makes Snegiyana an excellent choice for gardeners who value reliability and fruit quality.
