Tikič — a high-yielding late-ripening blackcurrant variety developed in Switzerland. The plants of this variety are medium-sized, compact, with upright canes and weak thorns. The plant is highly resistant to drought, frost, and major blackcurrant diseases, including powdery mildew, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including regions of Ukraine.
The berries of the Tikič variety are large, weighing from 13 to 15 grams, with a red-bordeaux color and firm, crisp skin. The flesh is juicy, aromatic, with a dessert-like sweet flavor and a slight tartness, providing a high sensory rating — 4.5 out of 5 points. Due to good transportability, the berries retain their quality during transit, making this variety attractive both for home cultivation and commercial production.
The variety is characterized by high yield: from one bush, you can harvest between 4–5 kg to 8–10 kg of berries per season. The bushes are strong, upright, and under favorable conditions can reach a height of up to 1.5 meters. The ripening period falls at the end of July to the beginning of August, allowing for fresh berries to be harvested in mid-summer. Tikič is well-adapted to various soil-climate conditions and is suitable for cultivation in most regions of Ukraine.
