Description Kolobok
Medium-ripening variety, obtained at VSTISP from crossing the varieties Rozovy-2 and Smena. Developed by I.V. Popova. Since 1988, it has been included in the State Register of Selection Achievements approved for use in the Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central Chernozem, and East Siberian regions.

The bush is vigorous, moderately spreading, dense, with strong branching and inclined branches. Non-woody shoots are medium-thick, very long, curved, slightly branched, green, without hairs. Woody shoots are thin and medium-thick, light-gray in color. Thorns are short, thin, single, matte, without gloss, located at the nodes. Thorn orientation relative to the shoot is perpendicular. Buds are large, pointed, brown. Buds are arranged alternately on the shoot. Bud position relative to the shoot is angled. Terminal buds are grouped.

Leaves are large and medium-sized, weakly glossy, soft, green. Leaf blade is horizontally oriented relative to the shoot and concave along the central vein. Leaf margin is smooth. Leaf blade teeth are medium-sized, blunt-tipped. Main veins are fully colored. Number of lobes is three. Central lobe is rounded, with three-toothed apex. Length of central lobe equals that of lateral lobes. Lateral edges of the central lobe are rounded. Lateral lobes are short, broad, rounded, blunt. Apexes are directed upwards. Basal lobes are underdeveloped. Angle between lateral lobe veins is obtuse. Petiole notch shape is rounded. Petiole is short, thick, smooth, green, positioned on the shoot at a 30° angle.

Flowers are large and medium-sized, clustered in one inflorescence. Calyx lobes are light-green with pink edges. Calyx lobes are loosely arranged. Inflorescence is single- or three-flowered. Peduncle is medium-length, branched.

Berries are large (4.5–8.0 g) and medium (3.0 g), oval-rounded, dark-red, with a waxy coating. Skin thickness is medium, easily detachable, berries do not drop off. Flavor is sour-sweet, intended for table use. Receptacle is closed. Vein pattern is medium, vein color is lighter than the main color. Seeds are medium-sized, 25 per berry. Chemical composition of berries: dry matter — 12.4%, total sugars — 8.7%, titratable acidity — 2.7%, ascorbic acid — 25.0 mg/100 g, anthocyanins — 25.0 mg/100 g.

Advantages of the variety: early fruiting, low thorniness, berries remain on the bush for a long time, high rooting ability of shoots.

Disadvantages of the variety: susceptibility to prolonged drought, negative reaction to winter thaws and subsequent frosts, bush overcrowding.
