Gladiolus MEETING WITH THE BEAUTIFUL

The Breeding Legacy of Anatoly Kiselev

The 'Vstrecha s Prekrasnym' (Meeting with the Beautiful) gladiolus is a signature cultivar of Russian origin, developed through the long-term work of Anatoly Leonidovich Kiselev. This variety has secured a distinct position in the collections of floral enthusiasts due to its deep, saturated burgundy hue, which, combined with pronounced ruffling, creates a striking "velvet" texture. Unlike many exhibition hybrids that require greenhouse conditions, this variety exhibits notable resilience, maintaining its high decorative standards even in open ground.

Aesthetics and Morphology

The core feature of this model is its extended blooming period, which sets it apart from classic large-flowered forms. The ruffled edges of the petals provide the inflorescence with additional density and depth. In landscape design, 'Vstrecha s Prekrasnym' is primarily used as an accent plant for flowerbeds and formal gardens. The tight arrangement of buds on the spike also makes it suitable for cut flower arrangements, where it maintains its freshness significantly longer than average commercial varieties.
