The plant reaches a height of 100-120 cm, making it an excellent choice for cutting and decorating tall vases. To successfully grow Home Run gladiolus, proper planting and care conditions must be provided. The plant prefers sunny, well-lit areas with loose, nutrient-rich soil, such as sandy loam or loamy soils with good drainage. Before planting, the soil should be thoroughly tilled, organic fertilizers and superphosphate should be added, and protection from excessive moisture should be ensured to avoid diseases affecting the corms.
Corm preparation includes sorting and inspecting for diseases, treating affected areas, and sprouting on a sunny spot until the sprouts appear. Planting is conducted from April to May in soil warmed to 10-15°C, placing the corms about 15 cm deep with a spacing of no less than 35 cm. During growth, gladiolus plants require regular watering, especially during early flowering, as well as preventive treatment against pests.
