Highly selective herbicide for controlling broadleaf weeds in soybean, cereal grasses, corn, and flax crops.
Formulation and active ingredient:
Water-dispersible granules containing methylsulfuron, 750 g/kg.
Chemical class:
Sulfonamide derivatives.
Packaging:
250 g bottles.
Speed of action:
Visible symptoms appear 2-3 days after application, weed death occurs within 10-20 days.
Mode of action:
The product penetrates the plant through the leaves, halts weed cell division by affecting the enzyme system. In sensitive weeds, it causes cessation of growth, chlorosis, death of growth points, necrosis, and complete death. More resistant weeds, or those in later growth stages at the time of application, will stop growth and will not compete with crop plants.
Properties and advantages:
Orion — post-emergence herbicide for controlling broadleaf weeds;
When applied at recommended doses, it exhibits excellent selectivity relative to soybeans from the 1st true trifoliate leaf stage to flowering, corn from the 3rd to 7th leaf stage, cereals from the tillering stage to the flag leaf stage, and flax, due to rapid degradation in these crops' tissues;
High systemic activity allows the product to rapidly move to growth zones in roots and leaves;
Orion is an ideal partner for tank-mix combinations. In particular, in cereal crops, the herbicide is used to enhance control of persistent weeds — common ragwort. The application rate of ORION depends on the weed growth stage (optimum efficiency up to 4-leaf stage) and temperature regime (from 7-8°C), recommended application rate is 20 g/ha with partner herbicides (Gerstil, Mikodin, Optimum, Saracin);
Due to its specific mode of action on weed enzyme systems, Orion acts within several hours;
No restrictions in crop rotation; rapidly degrades in soil (half-life — 6 days). However, in unforeseen cases, if treated crops die, it is recommended to replant broadleaf crops only after 2 months;
After harvest, any crop can be sown under normal crop rotation;
High efficacy against difficult-to-kill broadleaf weeds in soybean crops, such as chickweed, mallow, knotgrass, purslane, groundsel, and cruciferous weeds.
WHO classification, toxicological characteristics:
Class III (moderately toxic).
