Description Contactwin
Two-component broad-spectrum herbicide for controlling broadleaf and grassy weeds on sugar beet crops
Formulation: concentrate emulsion
Active ingredients: fenmedifam (97 g/L) + etofumazate (94 g/L)
MANUFACTURER: 'Finechem Schwabach GmbH', Germany
PACKAGING: 5 L canister
ADVANTAGES OF THE PREPARATION:
Systemic post-emergence herbicide
Contains two active ingredients that provide the herbicide with selective and systemic properties
Due to the combination of two active ingredients, it has an extended spectrum of activity: fenmedifam controls many broadleaf weeds (resistant species include: common groundsel, rough chickweed, monocotyledonous weeds); etofumazate eliminates most weed species, including common groundsel, rough chickweed, watercress, mustard
Contactwin, due to its content of fenmedifam and etofumazate, eliminates many broadleaf and some monocotyledonous weeds
Speed of action from 1-2 days depending on weather conditions
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Contactwin, due to its content of fenmedifam and etofumazate, eliminates many broadleaf and some monocotyledonous weeds. The selective systemic herbicide is mainly absorbed by the leaves of weeds, as well as by the emerging shoots and roots of plants. Remaining in the soil, it protects the crop from weeds for a prolonged period.
Fenmedifam is absorbed by leaves and blocks photosynthesis processes. Sugar beet quickly metabolizes this substance and is not affected by phytotoxic effects (the deactivation process occurs at night)
Etofumazate is absorbed by the coleoptiles of monocotyledonous weeds during germination. Broadleaf weeds absorb the substance through their roots. The substance inhibits cell division processes and blocks the formation of waxy coating on the leaf surface. Characterized by selectivity for sugar beet
APPLICATION:
The preparation is applied by broadcast spraying the soil. The first application of CONTACTWIN, EC, is carried out when most weed plants have reached the cotyledon stage. Further applications are recommended to be carried out 7-10 days after the previous spraying, as new weed flushes appear, but not later than the emergence of cotyledon leaves on weeds. Maximum number of applications per season — 3. Spraying is not recommended when sugar beet is under stress (e.g., under drought, frost, or after pesticide application)
It is advisable to avoid application when temperature exceeds 21 °C and under bright sunlight. In such cases, it is better to wait for temperature to drop (evening hours). The preparation CONTACTWIN, EC is compatible with many other herbicides used on sugar beet
To broaden the spectrum of action and achieve maximum results, we recommend using tank mixtures:
Golthix 700, LS - 0.5-1.5 L/ha + Contactwin, EC - 1.0-2.0 L/ha
For more detailed information regarding the combined use of CONTACTWIN, EC and GOLTHIX 700, LS, refer to the 'Guidelines for Protection of Sugar Beet, 2007', prepared by LLC 'Sammit-Agro Ukraine'
Working solution dosage: 200-300 L/ha
Under dry conditions, use the upper limit of water quantity
