Fennel Fenomen

Fennel "PHENOMENON" is a mid-season plant of the umbellifer family, reaching full maturity 55-60 days after full seedling emergence. Heads are 12-15 cm long and 10-12 cm wide, weighing about 210-220 g, with white coloration, while leaves are green, without anthocyanin, deeply dissected with filiform segments. Rosette height is approximately 50 cm, diameter 35 cm, making the plant attractive both fresh and after culinary processing.

Fennel heads are the main productive organ and widely used in cooking: they can be fried, stewed, baked, or eaten raw in salads. Greens are also valued fresh and as a dried spice, adding a characteristic anise-like aroma to dishes. Average yield is about 1.1 kg/m², making "PHENOMENON" a profitable choice for farmers.

Besides gastronomic properties, fennel has useful medicinal qualities: it is considered an excellent expectorant and suitable for people with sensitive stomachs since it does not contain spicy seasonings. Seeds can be used as an aromatic addition in soups, fish and meat dishes, as well as sprinkled over baked goods and vegetable dishes. Fennel leaves and seeds are easy to brew, obtaining a drink with a soft sweet-spicy taste, reminiscent of a combination of dill and anise.
