Fennel "Lider" is a Russian breeding variety of Gavrish, distinguished by high green yield and ease of cultivation. The plant reaches a height of 170–180 cm, has an upright stem, and large dark green leaves with a pinnately lobed surface. Flowers are small and yellow; leaves are harvested before flowering to preserve aroma and taste.
The period from full germination to technical maturity is 40–50 days, making "Lider" an ideal choice for summer fresh green harvest. Yield reaches 2.2 kg/m², and leaves can be used as a spice-flavoring additive to soups, meat dishes, and vegetables in fresh or dried form.
Fennel belongs to the Apiaceae family and tastes like anise. In traditional medicine, it is valued for its content of vitamins, micro- and macroelements, as well as essential oils, but its main application in modern farming is cuisine, where its aroma enhances the taste of dishes.
