Feijoa «Aromatic Fantasy» is a variety of exotic berry from the myrtle family, distinguished by its bright green color and egg-shaped form. The fruit of medium size (30–120 g) has a tender, jelly-like pulp with a sweet-and-sour taste reminiscent of a mix of strawberry and pineapple. The berries have a specific, pleasant aroma, making them popular in cooking: they are perfect for salads, smoothies, jams, and desserts.
The variety is characterized by an early ripening period – the first week of October, as well as universal usage. The tree is of medium height with a rounded, medium-density crown, growing with straight branches branching off the trunk at an angle. The bark is rough, gray-brown; the leaves are oval, dark green and glossy, dense, corrugated on top and hairy underneath.
«Aromatic Fantasy» is rich in vitamins C, B, E, A, as well as minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron. Antioxidants and flavonoids make the berry beneficial for type II diabetes, atherosclerosis, thyroid gland diseases, gastritis, and joint diseases. The recommended dose – 5 berries per day; store for up to seven days in the refrigerator or up to a year in sealed jars. The berry does not cause food allergies and can be used as a mild diuretic.
