Betsy Couperus is a powerful and spreading shrub with a height of 1 to 1.2 m, characterized by dense foliage and pronounced decorative qualities. In spring, the leaves have a brownish-green tint, turning rich dark green in summer, creating a contrast with the delicate pink inflorescences.
The blooming season begins around July 14 and lasts about two weeks. Lush drooping inflorescences of light pink color reach a diameter of 5–6 mm, with each bud emitting a strong honey scent. Flowers can be pink or slightly reddish, making the shrub particularly attractive for summer garden design.
Betsy Couperus is perfect for greening dry banks and areas with well-drained soil. The plant is drought-resistant, cold-hardy, disease-resistant, and pest-resistant, and can withstand moderate wind loads. Thanks to its unpretentiousness, it is easy to grow in shade or partial shade, making it an ideal element for hedges or group plantings.
