Sainfoin KRAYNOYARSKIY

Siberian Hardiness in Forage Production

The «Krasnoyarsky» sainfoin variety, developed by the Krasnoyarsk Science Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, represents a benchmark for resilience in challenging climates. This variety has established itself in the agricultural market by maintaining productivity where other legumes fail due to cold stress and disease pressure.

Biological Defense and Productivity

The primary value of this variety lies in its robust genetic resistance. «Krasnoyarsky» displays strong immunity to three major threats that impact sainfoin yields:

• Fusarium;
• Ascochyta;
• Powdery mildew.

This natural biological shield reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications, making it an excellent choice for sustainable and environmentally conscious farming operations.

Versatile Field Applications

In the market, the variety is valued not only for its forage quality but also as a highly effective tool for soil improvement and apiculture:

• Sideration: With its well-developed root system, the crop effectively aerates the soil and fixes nitrogen, making it a critical component in crop rotation for fertility restoration.
• Honey plant: The crop features excellent nectar production, providing a reliable forage source for pollinators throughout the flowering season.

The reputation of «Krasnoyarsky» is built on harvest predictability and stand longevity. For farmers looking to balance nutritional output with low-maintenance crop management, this variety offers a reliable and proven solution.
