Echinacea PURPLE CONEFLOWER

Cultivation and Practical Management

The 'Primorskaya Purpurnaya' (Primorsky Purple) variety is the result of breeding work by the Federal Research Center for Agro-biotechnologies of the Far East, designed for those seeking a balance between garden aesthetics and the functional utility of a medicinal herb plot. In field conditions, the variety demonstrates high adaptability to climatic stresses typical of regions with significant temperature fluctuations.

Agronomic Features and Maintenance

• Planting and Density: This variety is responsive to well-drained, fertile soils. In commercial cultivation, an optimal planting pattern allows for mechanized row maintenance, significantly reducing labor costs associated with weed control.
• Plantation Care: The plant is characterized by steady growth. During the growing season, it requires minimal intervention: timely weeding and irrigation during the budding phase ensure maximum accumulation of biologically active compounds.
• Crop Longevity: Due to its powerful root system, this echinacea variety maintains productivity on the same site for 5–7 years, after which root division or replanting is recommended.

Applications and Harvesting

The primary value of the variety lies in its high concentration of medicinal compounds. Inflorescences are harvested during mass flowering when the petals acquire a rich purple hue. In commercial terms, the variety is valued not only for its pharmacological properties but also for its ornamental appeal, allowing the sale of both cut flowers and planting material in two market segments: pharmaceutical and landscape design. Its resistance to common crop diseases reduces the need for chemical treatments, simplifying the production of organically clean raw materials.
