LIVADIA – a perennial herbaceous plant growing from 80 to 100 cm in height, distinguished by its cold and drought resistance. Its stems are sturdy, often single, and its leaves are dark green, broadly lanceolate, about 10 cm long with moderate pubescence. Flowering begins in summer and continues until autumn; the inflorescences are large heads 7–8 cm in diameter, colored purple-pink, gradually fading by the end of the season.
In gardening, LIVADIA is valued as a decorative element of the natural style. Thanks to its bright inflorescences and resistance to adverse conditions, the plant easily complements ornamental grasses, gypsophila, kermea, yellow rudbeckia, and yarrow. Moreover, LIVADIA provides excellent cut flowers: the blooms retain freshness in water for a long time, making them a popular choice for bouquets.
In terms of medicinal properties, the plant is known for its bactericidal and immunomodulating effects. As raw material, both flower heads (collected in July–August) and rhizomes with roots (collected in late autumn) are used. These plant parts are applied for preparing agents that help strengthen immunity and fight infections.
