DescriptionEarly
Arundo donax 'EARLY' – a perennial herbaceous plant up to 1.7 m tall, preferring cool seasons and full sun or partial shade. Leaves are flat, 0.3 to 1.2 m long and up to 1.9 cm wide, tapering gradually towards the base. Flowering occurs in May–July: spreading flower heads (7.6–15.2 cm) emerge from bare stems and change color from green through purple to yellow-brown.
The plant shows high tolerance to various soil types – from sand to clay, from acidic to alkaline, as well as to wet and dry conditions. Due to this adaptability, it is easy to grow in gardens, parks and decorative compositions, where it serves as a bright accent thanks to its beautiful flowering and resistance to diseases and pests.
'EARLY' is widely used as a decorative element on plots, as well as as a barrier for fighting erosion. It is easily propagated by seeds or rhizome division, making it a popular choice among gardeners who wish to add a picturesque herbaceous structure to the landscape.
