Description Sofya
Medium-ripening variety, obtained in the mountain gardening department of the Siberian Institute of Horticulture named after M.A. Lisavenko from open pollination of the 'Seyanets Golubki' variety. Authors: L.N. Zabelina, I.P. Kalinina. Included in the State Register of Varieties approved for use in the Middle Volga, Western and Eastern Siberian regions since 1993.

Medium-height, medium-spreading, medium-dense bush. Growing shoots of medium thickness, straight, green with a pinkish tip, slightly hairy, woody—medium thickness, gray-brown, slightly hairy. Buds large, solitary, egg-shaped, pointed, light pink, without hairs, deviated from the shoot. Terminal bud free.

Leaf five-lobed, medium size, dark green, without hairs, wrinkled, medium density, concave, slightly shiny. Central lobe elongated, broad. Angle between central veins of side lobes is straight. Basal lobes well developed, veins directed towards the leaf tip. Base of leaf with small, open notch. Teeth large, sharp, long, with white "tips". Leaf stalks medium length, medium thickness, slightly hairy, light green with slight anthocyanin coloration at the edges, located at a sharp angle (45°) to the shoot in the middle part of the shoot.

Flowers medium-sized, calyx lobes pink, corolla petals cream-colored, not fused, deviated. Inflorescences solitary, medium length (5-7 berries) and density. Pedicels medium length, green, slightly hairy.

Berries large (1.5-3.0 g), spherical, one-sided, black, shiny, with a medium number of small seeds, thin, tender skin, dry detachment, sour-tasting, refreshing. Calyx small, open.

Chemical composition: soluble dry substances — 8.6-11.5%, total sugars — 6.8-7.8%, titratable acidity — 3.5-3.8%, ascorbic acid — 72.0-144.0 mg/100 g.

Winter-hardy, self-fertile (66%), resistant to fungal diseases, high-yielding (11.3 t/ha).

Advantages of the variety: high yield, large berries, winter hardiness.

Disadvantages of the variety: insufficient resistance to bud mite, sour taste of berries.
