Description Manon
Manon sugar beet is a first-generation hybrid belonging to mid-late maturity varieties. This triploid single-seed hybrid on a sterile background is characterized by a conical, slightly oval root with a green aerial part and white underground part. The plant has dark green leaves with an upright arrangement, and the petiole is also green. The root mass is about 515-533 grams, ensuring high yield and product quality. MANON demonstrates high productivity in various regions, including the Central Black Earth and Middle Volga. In the Central Black Earth region, average yield reaches 430 hundredweights per hectare with 18.1% sugar content, ensuring sugar collection of up to 78 hundredweights per hectare and a probable factory sugar output of 72 hundredweights. In the Middle Volga region, figures are slightly lower but still high: yield of 400 hundredweights per hectare, sugar content of 17.9%, and sugar collection of 71 hundredweights per hectare. The hybrid has resistance to root maggot and Cercospora, which contributes to maintaining crop quality. Thanks to its characteristics, Manon sugar beet is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions and ensures a stable high yield of saccharine root. Its use is effective for industrial processing and sugar production, making this hybrid in demand among agricultural producers. Compact size and high sugar content of roots contribute to economic benefit and convenience in agronomy.
