KUBANSKY MS 81 is a single-seed diploid hybrid of sugar beet, developed on a sterile basis of N type. This mid-season hybrid was created through the joint efforts of the North Caucasian Scientific Research Institute of Sugar Beet and Seed Production (SCNISSiS) and the German company KWS. The plant features a broadly conical root of medium length with a weight ranging from 458.5 to 536.2 grams and an intermediate leaf position. The vegetative period is approximately 180 days, allowing the hybrid to be successfully grown in various climatic conditions.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield and quality indicators. In the North Caucasian region, the average root yield reaches 39.7 centners per hectare, with sugar content at about 16.5% and sugar harvest at 7.0 centners per hectare. In the Central Black Soil region, sugar content can reach 18.7%, indicating the variety's high sugariness. Kubansky MS 81 boasts stable yield over years and high ecological plasticity, making it a reliable choice for farmers.
Special attention is given to the hybrid's disease resistance. KUBANSKY MS 81 demonstrates high resistance to cercosporosis, as well as moderate resistance to root rot and root rot pathogens. This helps reduce crop losses and decreases the need for intensive chemical protection. The hybrid is also adapted to the CONVISO® SMART technology, ensuring effective weed control and increasing cultivation economic efficiency.
