Summer Garland is a fast-maturing parthenocarpic cucumber hybrid that does not require pollination and features abundant fruiting over a wide temperature range. The period from germination to the first harvest is approximately 43-50 days. The plant exhibits vigorous growth with moderate or weak branching, forming 3-7 fruits per node, ensuring high yields of up to 14-16 kg per square meter. The hybrid is resistant to major cucumber diseases, including powdery mildew, root rot, downy mildew, cucumber mosaic virus, and olive spot, and also tolerates low temperatures and prolonged fruiting until autumn frosts.
The fruits of the Summer Garland cucumber are cylindrical, 8-14 cm long, and weigh approximately 120-130 grams. The fruits are bright or dark green, bumpy, with white, non-spiny spines. The skin may be darker near the base and lighter toward the tip, often with fine hairs. The flesh is juicy, crisp, aromatic, and sweet, without voids or bitterness, making this variety suitable for fresh consumption as well as pickling and salting. The fruits do not overripe if harvested promptly.
The Summer Garland hybrid is recommended for cultivation both in plastic greenhouses and in open ground, including northern regions and areas with sharp temperature fluctuations and cold mists. Due to its shade tolerance and cold resistance, this variety is suitable for growing on balconies, loggias, and even indoors on windowsills. The plants form as single stems, simplifying care and harvest, with a planting scheme in greenhouses of 30x70 cm.
