Cucumber MUSKETER

Cucumber "Musketeer": growing experience and real yield

When working with the parthenocarpic hybrid "Musketeer" from Ooo Premium Sids, you immediately notice its rate of development. This is a classic example of a generative plant type, where the bush's energy is channeled into fruit production rather than excessive foliage. In both open field and glass greenhouse conditions, this variety shows remarkable precocity — the first cucumbers can be harvested within 40 days of germination.

Agronomics and protection

The main headache for any vegetable grower is powdery mildew. "Musketeer" holds its ground confidently: its genetic resistance allows for a reduction in the frequency of fungicide treatments, which is critical for product eco-friendliness. The plant requires minimal training, as it produces very few side shoots, simplifying maintenance and saving time on pruning.

Fruit characteristics: results-oriented

• Dimensions: 7–9 cm long, an ideal size for both the fresh market and whole-fruit pickling.
• Appearance: A rich green color and small-tuberous structure make the produce visually appealing on the counter.
• Spines: Moderate tuberousness facilitates harvesting and helps the fruit maintain turgor longer during transport.

For an agronomist working with seeds from Alexey Viktorovich Kandoba and Kandoba Elena Evgenevna, "Musketeer" is, above all, about predictable results. Parthenocarpy ensures the absence of barren flowers, resulting in a consistently high yield of marketable produce even during temperature fluctuations in the spring.
