Cucumber Gomer

Siberian Resilience in Every Fruit

The 'Gomer' cucumber is the result of intensive research by the Institute of Cytology and Genetics (SB RAS), focusing not just on yield, but on adaptability to harsh and unstable conditions. Unlike many imported hybrids that demand precise microclimates, 'Gomer' shows remarkable resilience against temperature swings, making it a strategic choice for regions with short summers and cold nights.

Key Characteristics and Cultivation

• Pollination Type: A parthenocarpic hybrid, eliminating the need for pollinators and ensuring fruit set even in protected environments.
• Fruit Quality: The fruits reach 10–12 cm in length and feature a distinctively warty surface. This texture is ideal for pickling and brining, allowing the solution to penetrate evenly while keeping the flesh crunchy.
• Growth Environment: The variety performs consistently well in both glass greenhouses and open field cultivation.
