Excelsior

The Excelsior cucumber is an early, high-yielding parthenocarpic hybrid of the cornichon type with a vegetation period of 55 to 60 days after transplanting. The plant is strong, open, with a robust root system, providing resistance to temperature and water stress. Side shoots are short and compact, and one or occasionally two to three ribbed fruits form at each node, measuring 9 to 12 cm in length and weighing 80-110 g. The fruits have an elongated-oval shape, a very dark, uniform green color with a glossy surface and a dense internal structure with a small seed cavity.

The Excelsior hybrid is characterized by high fruit uniformity and balanced plant growth, ensuring even yield formation. It is resistant to true powdery mildew, enhancing cultivation reliability. Due to its high yield of marketable fruits and their quality, this cucumber is ideal for pickling and salting. The fruits are well-suited for transportation, making the hybrid attractive for commercial production.

Excelsior is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses in the first and second cropping seasons. The seeds are organic and untreated, allowing the hybrid to be used in organic farming.
