Cascade

Cucumber Cascade — an early-maturing hybrid of bee-pollinated type with a cluster fruiting, distinguished by rapid maturation: from full seedlings to the start of fruiting, it takes 40-50 days. The plant is medium-sized, with short fruits measuring 9 to 15 cm in length, having a spindle or elongated-elliptical shape. The zucchini are dark green with small bumps, uniform, weighing 90 to 120 grams, possessing a delicate aroma and excellent taste without bitterness. Due to these characteristics, Cascade cucumbers are ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for pickling and canning.

The variety is resistant to major diseases, including false powdery mildew and powdery mildew, which significantly simplifies care and increases crop reliability. Additionally, Cascade has high cold tolerance, allowing it to be grown both in open ground and under protected conditions, including open greenhouses. The yield of this variety ranges from 127 to 290 centners per hectare, making it attractive for commercial cultivation.

For successful cultivation, seedlings should be planted in April–May, followed by transplanting into open ground in early June, according to a 60x30 cm scheme. Early maturation and uniform fruiting allow for a steady and high-quality harvest. Cascade is a versatile variety that combines high productivity, resistance to adverse conditions, and outstanding taste qualities.
