Zedan 26 is a high-yielding hybrid of sweet corn developed by the Scientific Institute of Selection (NIS) in Ukraine. This hybrid belongs to the simple modified type and has a vegetation period of FAO 250, ensuring early flowering and strong initial growth. It is intended for grain and silage production, making it a versatile choice for various agricultural needs.
The Zedan 26 hybrid is characterized by high grain yield, reaching 12-13 tons per hectare. The grain is cream-colored and toothed, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 300-340 grams. On average, each ear forms 14-16 rows of kernels, each containing 32-34 kernels. Thanks to its strong root system and high resistance to lodging, this hybrid easily adapts to various climatic conditions and exhibits high drought tolerance.
Recommended cultivation zones for Zedan 26 include the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine. Its high water-use efficiency enables effective water utilization, which is especially important under variable climatic conditions. Thanks to its characteristics, this hybrid ensures stable and high yields, making it attractive for farmers focused on producing high-quality grain and silage.
