Maize SKIF SV

Technical Profile of «Skif SV» Sweet Corn

Developed by the All-Russian Research Institute of Corn, this hybrid is designed for the early-maturing segment with an intensive growth cycle. A maturation period of 80–85 days allows the crop to be utilized effectively for fresh market supplies, as well as for multi-stage cultivation aimed at industrial processing and freezing.

Biological Protection and Resistance

The core engineering solution in the breeding of «Skif SV» focuses on plant resilience. The hybrid's genetic structure has been deliberately reinforced against pathogens that typically compromise ear marketability:

• Resistance to Maize Rust: Prevents premature leaf senescence, maintaining photosynthetic efficiency until the point of technical maturity.
• Immunity to Sugarcane Mosaic Virus: A critical factor that minimizes the risk of kernel deformation and sugar content loss, which directly determines the quality of the final frozen product.

Agronomic Grain Characteristics

The grain exhibits a consistent yellow hue, highly valued in retail and food processing. High kernel density and a balanced biochemical profile make «Skif SV» a technologically suitable raw material for deep processing, ensuring the grain maintains structural integrity during mechanical shelling and thermal treatment. The stability of its key indicators within the 80-day cycle enables precision scheduling of harvesting, which is essential for maintaining operational profitability for commercial farms.
