Corn is one of the most important agricultural crops in the world, widely used in the food industry and animal feed production. Although America is considered the origin of corn, active work is being done in Ukraine to increase yields and improve cultivation technologies for this crop. Corn prefers moderate and tropical climates and does not tolerate low temperatures or excessive moisture. When growing corn, it is important to pay attention to weed control, protection against pests and diseases, and to consider climatic conditions to achieve high yields.
The corn hybrid DN Zoryana is a high-yielding and resilient variety registered in 2015. It is characterized by good water shedding and resistance to lodging and stem breakage, ensuring reliable harvest. The seeds have a silvery-toothed structure, and the ear is attached at a height of approximately 110 cm. The hybrid is adapted to various regions of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia, and requires careful seed preparation using insecticide-treated seeds and growth stimulators to achieve maximum productivity.
In addition, Ukraine has introduced the first organic sugar corn seeds, such as the hybrid Dunay, developed by scientists of the All-Ukrainian Scientific Institute of Selection. This hybrid meets European standards and features large, even, fully filled ears of 23–25 cm in length. Organic sugar corn is in demand for industrial cultivation and is known for its high product quality.
