Corn ROCHESTER

French breeding for Ukrainian fields

The Rochester maize hybrid is the result of extensive breeding work by Lidea France SAS. This product exemplifies the European approach to seed development, focusing on yield stability under changing climatic conditions. The French-developed hybrid has undergone a full cycle of testing, confirming its adaptability to the soil and climatic zones of Ukraine.

Official status and genetics

In 2026, the hybrid was officially included in the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for distribution in Ukraine. The F1 status (first generation) ensures that farmers benefit from the heterosis effect: increased growth vigor, resistance to environmental stressors, and high productivity potential embedded by Lidea breeders.

Role in crop rotation

Rochester occupies a niche of high-intensity hybrids designed for farms aiming for maximum return per hectare. Due to its breeding origin, the hybrid demonstrates balanced development of vegetative mass and reproductive organs, which is critical for forming a high-quality ear. Utilizing this hybrid allows farmers to plan yields with a high degree of predictability, leveraging modern genetic solutions from the French breeding school.
