Maize PORUMBENY 274 MV

PORUMBENY 274 MV — a medium-maturing corn hybrid with a vegetation period of 110–115 days, intended for cultivation as grain or silage. The plant is of medium height, reaching 250–270 cm, with a cylindrical ear 18–20 cm long and a red cob. The grain is yellow, dent-type, with a 1000-grain weight of 280–300 g, ensuring a high grain yield upon shelling — 85–90%.

The hybrid exhibits good drought tolerance and resistance to various diseases, including stalk rots, southern helminthosporium, and ear fusarium. Additionally, the plant is resistant to lodging and pests, contributing to stable yields and product quality. Recommended planting density varies depending on moisture conditions: 80–90 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture, and 60–75 thousand plants per hectare in dry conditions.

PORUMBENY 274 MV is adapted for cultivation in various regions, including the Volga-Vyatka, Central Chernozem, Lower Volga, Ural, West Siberian, and East Siberian regions. Average grain yield in the Central Chernozem region reaches 55.2 centners per hectare, with yields varying in other regions. This hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high-quality animal feed and grain with good yields.
