Hybrid corn P8255 (P8271) belongs to mid-early maturity types with FAO 240 and is a simple single hybrid with dent kernel type. It is intended for dual use — for grain and silage, making it a versatile choice for various agrotechnical conditions. Plants are characterized by medium height, strong and healthy stalks with high ear attachment, providing good resistance to lodging and stalk diseases. Grain ripens quickly, while silage has high content of easily digestible starch, enhancing its feed value.

Hybrid P8255 demonstrates high yield when grown for grain, reaching yields of 11-13 tons per hectare. It tolerates water deficit well and has excellent drought resistance, allowing successful cultivation on medium and dry soils, including conditions of the Polesie and Forest-Steppe regions. Plants show high tolerance to Fusarium and yellow streak disease, and are resistant to major diseases with a rating of 6 out of 9, contributing to stable yields.

For optimal results, early planting should be avoided and post-emergence herbicides should be applied strictly according to crop development phases. Seeding rate varies depending on soil moisture: 75-80 thousand plants per hectare under sufficient moisture, and 65-70 thousand under insufficient moisture. The hybrid is suitable for monoculture and minimal soil tillage, but is not recommended for late harvest. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, P8255 is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality grain and silage crops.
