Corn NS 2040 is a mid-early hybrid of Serbian selection, developed based on the Institute of Vegetable and Field Crop Research in Novi Sad. This hybrid is based on a maternal fertile line and is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 140 centners per hectare even under adverse climatic conditions. The FAO of the hybrid is 280, making it optimal for cultivation in Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones.
Corn plants of NS 2040 reach a height of 250-270 cm with adequate moisture. The hybrid features a strong stem and robust root system, providing excellent resistance to lodging and efficient water utilization, which is especially important in arid regions. Conical ears up to 25 cm long contain 14-16 rows of yellow dent kernels, contributing to high-quality harvest.
To achieve maximum productivity, it is recommended to maintain a specific plant population: in Forest-Steppe — 55-60 thousand plants per hectare, in Central Steppe — 50-55 thousand, and in Southern and dry Steppe — 45-50 thousand per hectare. Thanks to its adaptive properties and drought resistance, corn NS 2040 is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain a stable and high yield under various climatic conditions.
