The herbicide Nelson is a concentrate suspension with the active ingredient prometryn at a concentration of 500 g/l. It is intended for effective control of annual dicotyledonous and grass weeds in corn, sunflower, and potato crops. The preparation is selective, allowing its use without harm to crop plants, while ensuring reliable elimination of a wide range of weeds such as veronica, small-flowered galinsoga, burnet, field mustard, common henbane, middle starwort, broadleaf dock, white bedstraw, black nightshade, pink sow-thistle, and others.
The application rate of the herbicide is 2 to 4 liters per hectare for corn and sunflower, and 3 to 4 liters per hectare for potatoes. The optimal application temperature is within the range of +10 to +25 °C. The preparation is compatible with other herbicides of similar action, enabling its use in tank mixtures. The effect of treatment becomes apparent within 4–12 weeks, contributing to reduced need for soil tillage and preservation of soil structure.
Use of the herbicide Nelson contributes to increased yields by providing reliable weed control and improving growing conditions for crop plants. For maximum efficiency in corn cultivation, it is recommended to also apply modern irrigation methods, which are well compatible with agronomic practices, ensuring optimal moisture and plant development.
