Maize Regent

Genetic Protection and Adaptability

The 'Regent' corn variety from OVP Pokrovskoe is the result of breeding work by the FANC South-East and the Saratov State University, focused on creating a crop with an enhanced immune response. Unlike standard hybrids, this variety emphasizes resistance to soil-borne pests that reduce crop density every year.

Technical Resistance Profile

• Soil-borne Defense: Due to the specific traits of the seed, the variety exhibits high resistance to damage from wireworms and mole crickets. This helps prevent critical losses during the germination phase, when young roots are most vulnerable.
• Aerial Pest Resistance: The breeding profile includes resistance to weevils and the Colorado potato beetle, minimizing the risk of foliage loss. For an agronomist, this translates into cost savings on additional insecticide applications during early vegetative stages.

Utilizing 'Regent' is justified in regions with high pest pressure, where standard varieties require chemical support from the moment of sowing. The stability of this variety is ensured by an original genetic base adapted to the challenging climate of the South-East. The practical benefit is maintaining the target plant stand density even in areas traditionally considered difficult for corn production due to high biological pressure.
