Maize Gart

Stability and Performance: The 'Hart' Advantage

Developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Institute of Plant Production NAAS, the 'Hart' maize hybrid is specifically designed to meet the challenges of intensive crop production in Ukraine. It serves as a reliable solution for farmers prioritizing yield consistency and high resilience against environmental stressors.

Biological Defense as a Management Tool

The core strength of 'Hart' lies in its comprehensive disease resistance profile. By choosing this hybrid, producers effectively mitigate the risks associated with pathogen outbreaks, often resulting in lower expenditure on synthetic fungicides. The hybrid shows significant resistance to a wide range of pathogens, including:

• Alternaria and Macrosporium;
• Phytophthora and Bacteriosis;
• Peronospora and Scab.

This genetic robustness ensures that the crop maintains photosynthetic efficiency throughout the growing season, directing energy towards grain development rather than fighting secondary infections.

Operational Scenarios

In practice, 'Hart' is valued for its reliable performance in the field. It is particularly noted for its rapid moisture loss during the grain-filling stage, which is a critical operational advantage, significantly reducing post-harvest drying costs. This hybrid adapts well to both traditional and minimum tillage practices, making it a versatile tool in a modern crop rotation strategy. Whether on high-fertility or moderately managed soils, 'Hart' remains a cornerstone for farmers looking to balance production costs with reliable, high-quality output.
