Description MOLDAVSKY 215 AMV
Moldavian 215 AMV is an early-maturing double-row hybrid maize with FAO 190, maturing in 98-103 days under Moldovan conditions. The plant reaches a height of 190-210 cm, has 14-15 broad dark green leaves, and a medium-thick sturdy stem. The ear is cylindrical, 14-16 cm long, with 14-16 rows of kernels, well-covered by husks. The kernel is semi-pear-shaped, yellow, with a 1000-kernel weight of 270-280 g, containing 11.2% crude protein, 4.2% oil, and 71.8% starch. Grain yield at threshing reaches 80-82%, with potential grain yields in cultivation zones of 100-110 c/ha, and silage mass of 400-500 c/ha.

The hybrid exhibits good early growth and resistance to spring frosts, ensuring reliable plant development under adverse conditions. It has moderate lodging resistance and tolerance to major diseases and pests, contributing to stable yields. The optimal plant density at harvest for grain is 80-90 thousand plants per hectare.

Moldavian 215 AMV is versatile in use and recommended for cultivation both for grain and silage. The hybrid is approved in Moldova, Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, confirming its adaptability to various climatic and soil conditions. The developer is the Institute of Plant Breeding "Porumben", and the variety has been registered since 1987.
