Marliz

The hybrid sweet corn 'Marliz' is a simple mid-early variety with universal usage, developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN of Ukraine and produced by the company 'APK 'Maïs'. This hybrid is characterized by high adaptability and good response to improved growing conditions, allowing farmers to achieve stable and high yields. 'Marliz' has undergone careful selection and is a quality benchmark among corn hybrids in Ukraine, providing high-class seed material.

The plants of the hybrid reach a height of 270-280 cm, with an ear attachment height of 95-105 cm. The ear, 23-24 cm long, contains 16 rows of kernels, each row having 37-39 yellow, dent kernels. The 1000-kernel mass is 260-280 g. The hybrid exhibits good water utilization by the kernels during ripening, contributing to optimal harvest moisture at 16-18%. The yield potential is 120-135 centners per hectare depending on growing conditions, with recommended planting density ranging from 50-55 thousand plants per hectare under insufficient moisture to 75-80 thousand under sufficient moisture.

'Marliz' possesses high resistance to a range of diseases, including fusarium and major smut diseases, as well as stalk borer. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to adverse weather conditions such as drought and cold, with resistance ratings of 7 to 9 points for various factors. These qualities make 'Marliz' a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic zones and ensure stable quality and quantity of harvest.
