Maize LNH 3483

French Breeding for High Forage Productivity

The LNH 3483 hybrid from the Mas Seeds breeding house embodies the European approach to intensive crop production. Developed under the guidance of originator Joel Meunier, this maize hybrid has secured a firm position in farms focused on high-quality forage production and stable raw materials for industrial processing.

In today's market, where crop resistance to pathogens is a critical factor for profitability, LNH 3483 demonstrates reliable genetic protection. Mas Seeds breeders have focused heavily on resistance to key diseases that reduce yields annually, such as Helminthosporium, Fusarium, and boil smut. This makes the hybrid a predictable choice for regions with moderately humid climates, where the risk of fungal infections is higher than average.

Technical Specifications and Recommendations

• End-Use: The main focus is on forage production (silage, high-energy feed) and industrial processing.
• Seeding Density: To fully unlock the cob's potential, it is recommended to maintain a density of 80,000–90,000 plants per hectare. Adhering to these rates allows the hybrid to effectively utilize available moisture and nutrients without excessive competition within the row.

Choosing LNH 3483 is a sound decision for farmers seeking a balance between premium French genetic material and high adaptability. The stability of this hybrid is confirmed by its long-standing presence in the Mas Seeds portfolio, where it has proven itself as a reliable tool for building the foundation of livestock operations in need of high-quality, safe feedstocks.
