LESNO — this is sweet corn, representing a valuable agricultural crop widely used in the food industry and animal feed. Corn is distinguished by its high content of vitamins and nutrients, which reduces the risk of various diseases in animals. Originating in America, corn today ranks among the top three agricultural crops worldwide. In Ukraine, active efforts are underway to increase yields and improve growing conditions for corn, which contributes to expanding planting areas and enhancing product quality.
Hybrid LESNO is characterized by an early maturation period — about 70-73 days, making it suitable for both processing and fresh consumption. The ear length reaches 18 cm, and the plant height is approximately 170 cm with a strong stalk. Corn has a pleasant taste and excellent market appearance, along with high sugar content, making it particularly attractive to consumers. For cultivation, open ground with sowing in April-May at temperatures not lower than 10°C is recommended. Plants are resistant to short-term temperature drops and minor frosts, but prolonged cooling slows growth and causes leaf yellowing.
For successful cultivation of LESNO, optimal lighting and humidity conditions are required. Corn is a short-day plant requiring 12-14 hours of light for normal development. Insufficient lighting reduces nutrient uptake and slows ear formation. Water demand is moderate from germination until flowering, but significantly increases during reproductive organ formation and pollination. Drought during this period may lead to reduced yield. The best soils for cultivation are chernozems, dark-gray forest loams, and chestnut soils with neutral or slightly alkaline reaction. Plants respond positively to the application of organic and mineral fertilizers, especially phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium.
