Corn is one of the most important agricultural crops in the world and holds a leading position in terms of significance in the food sector. Although corn originated in America, it is widely cultivated and actively developed in Ukraine. Corn is used both for producing grain and grit, as well as as high-quality animal feed due to its content of vitamins and nutrients, which help reduce the risk of diseases in livestock. For successful corn cultivation, a moderate or tropical climate is required, as the plant poorly tolerates low temperatures, frost, and excessive moisture. Important aspects of agronomy include weed control, protection against pests and diseases, as well as adaptation to climatic conditions. One of the popular corn hybrids is Syngenta's 'SI Phenomenon'. This mid-early hybrid with FAO maturity group 220 is intended for grain and silage production. It is characterized by high starch content in kernels (72-75%) and the Stay Green plant type, which ensures the production of quality silage. Erect leaf arrangement promotes efficient photosynthesis, while a strong root system provides drought and lodging resistance. The hybrid adapts well to low temperatures, allowing early planting. Rapid moisture reduction in kernels during maturation facilitates storage preparation. The company MAIS, operating on the Ukrainian market for over 30 years, offers a wide range of high-yielding corn hybrids developed in collaboration with leading national breeding centers. All hybrids are adapted to Ukrainian soil-climate conditions, resistant to abiotic stresses, diseases, and pests. The company independently controls the entire seed production process—from sowing and selection to packaging—ensuring high-quality planting material and stable yields. This enables Ukrainian farmers to effectively utilize the potential of corn and achieve maximum efficiency in agricultural production.
