Corn hybrid Kiness is an early-maturing grain variety characterized by high stability and yield. Plants reach a height of 260 to 290 cm, with ears attached at a height of 80-95 cm. Ears are tightly wrapped in green husks and contain an average of 14 rows of kernels, each with 33 to 36 cream-colored kernels. The 1000-kernel weight varies from 290 to 320 grams, indicating large and dense kernels. The hybrid exhibits medium or fast drying speed, which promotes efficient milling and reduces losses during harvest.
Kiness demonstrates high resistance to lodging and stem breakage, ensuring yield retention during the growing season and prior to harvest. Plants have sturdy stems of medium thickness and are covered with erect-type leaves, which enhance photosynthesis and promote growth. The hybrid is well-adapted to various climatic conditions, including dry periods and temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine, particularly in Northern and Central Ukraine.
The potential yield of Kiness reaches 130 ц/га for grain and up to 600 ц/га for silage under favorable conditions. The recommended planting density at harvest time is 65-80 thousand plants per hectare. The hybrid is suitable for grain and meal production, as well as for silage. High resistance to common diseases and pests, such as corn borer, further enhances the reliability and economic efficiency of cultivating this variety.
