Practical experience with Gebalot corn

When planning the planting season, the most important factor is not the marketing brochures, but how the hybrid performs in real-world field conditions. RVA Ukraine offered Gebalot, and over the 90-100 day growing period, this variety has proven itself as a predictable and reliable tool. It is a mid-early hybrid that, in my observation, performs well under moisture deficit conditions — it doesn't require extreme irrigation investment to deliver a stable yield.

Operational highlights

• Maturation time: The stated 90-100 day range is consistently met. This allows for stress-free harvest planning, as the plant matures and releases grain moisture before the autumn rains set in.
• Yield stability: Gebalot does not shatter and shows excellent resistance to lodging, which is critical for mechanized harvesting. The combine runs cleanly with minimal losses.
• Agrotechnics: The variety is responsive to fertilizers but is not overly demanding. Using standard pest control protocols, there were no issues with stem or ear damage throughout the season.

The main advantage for the operator is the uniformity of the crop. The ears are positioned at a consistent height, allowing for one-time header adjustment to cover the field without constant tweaking.
