Maize 4029 X 3036

The Genetic Architecture of Hybrid 4029 X 3036

French breeding from Laboulet Semences in the 4029 X 3036 model focuses on the balance between early development and intensive grain filling. This mid-early dent corn hybrid is a specialized solution for those prioritizing grain yield while maintaining manageable grain moisture levels at harvest.

Technical Potential and Phytosanitary Control

A key advantage of this hybrid is its pronounced tolerance to a complex of pathogens that typically reduce yields by 10–20%. The originator, Zeainvent Trnava S.R.O, has incorporated high resistance to:

• Helminthosporium leaf blight, allowing the leaf apparatus to remain active longer;
• Stalk rot, ensuring crop uprightness even during delayed harvesting;
• Root and stalk rots, which is critical in rotations with high corn saturation.

The dent-type grain provides optimal thousand-kernel weight and high test weight, making it a preferred choice for commercial grain production.

Agrotechnical Recommendations

Flexibility in seeding density is one of the strongest features of 4029 X 3036. The recommended range allows adaptation to specific regional moisture levels:

• 40,000–50,000 plants/ha — for water-scarce zones (extensive management).
• 55,000–65,000 plants/ha — standard for optimal conditions.
• 65,000–75,000 plants/ha — intensive technology under irrigation or high-input agro-backgrounds.

This versatility makes the hybrid a universal tool suitable for both rain-fed systems and high-intensity farming schemes.
