Maize 3257 X 3258

Genetic Potential and Adaptability of the 3257 X 3258 Hybrid

The French breeding expertise of Laboulet Semences is fully realized in the 3257 X 3258 hybrid, focusing on versatile application and yield consistency. Developed by the originator Zeainvent Trnava S.R.O., this mid-early corn hybrid is an ideal solution for farms targeting grain, silage, or forage production. The FAO range (90–1240) highlights its broad adaptability, allowing the plant to effectively utilize the vegetation period across diverse climatic zones.

Stay-Green and Technical Specifications

A primary advantage of 3257 X 3258 is the implementation of the Stay-green concept. Under field conditions, this translates into delayed senescence of the leaf apparatus, enabling the plant to continue sugar synthesis and dry matter accumulation in the grain until reaching physiological maturity. The intermediate grain type provides an optimal balance between moisture dry-down speed and thousand-kernel weight, which is critical for minimizing post-harvest drying costs.

Phytosanitary Security

Breeders at Laboulet Semences have focused heavily on resistance to key pathogens. The hybrid shows pronounced resistance to common smut. This significantly reduces the risk of ear and stalk infection, preserving overall crop quality. Furthermore, built-in protection against Fusarium and stalk smut minimizes potential yield losses during the ripening stage, a factor that becomes vital under high planting densities.

• Application Versatility: Grain, silage, and livestock feed.
• Stability: High resistance to lodging and environmental stress factors.
• Economy: Optimized fungicide application costs due to inherent genetic resistance.
