Manas is a high-yielding winter barley variety recommended for cultivation in all climatic zones, including arid regions. It is characterized by high drought resistance and frost tolerance rated at 7 points, ensuring reliable growth and preservation of crops under adverse weather conditions. Plant height reaches 100-110 cm, which belongs to tall varieties, and the branching type is half bushy, promoting good development and grain formation.
The barley ear is six-rowed, medium-length (8-10 cm), unbreakable and awned, with a rectangular shape transitioning to rhomboid at the upper part. Leaves are glabrous, green, with a weak waxy coating, enhancing disease resistance. Grain is large, yellow, elongated, with a 1000-seed mass of 45.5-47.6 g. The variety exhibits high resistance to cereal diseases such as black and stone rust (7-8 points), as well as leaf and stem diseases (5-6 points).
Manas is well-adapted to various agronomic conditions, including fertilizer application and seed treatment, providing reliable disease protection and enhancing yield. Average yield in variety trials ranges from 75-111 c/ha, and under drought conditions, it can reach up to 10.1 t/ha. The variety shows moderate resistance to lodging (6-7 points) and good recovery ability after frost damage, making it a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve stable and high-quality barley yields.
