The late-maturing Leonardo salad chicory variety has a vegetation period of about 81 days and is intended for summer cultivation, primarily under continental climate conditions. The plant forms uniform, round heads of deep purple color with characteristic white veins, giving the salad an attractive appearance and making it an excellent choice for decorating festive tables.

The chicory leaves are crisp and have a pleasant taste without bitterness, significantly expanding its culinary applications. The salad is suitable for both boiling and grilling, allowing for diverse use in various dishes. The plant height reaches about 40 cm, and the head diameter is up to 30 cm, with a fruit weight of approximately 450 grams.

The variety is resistant to bolting, which prevents premature flowering and extends storage life. Additionally, Leonardo chicory exhibits good resistance to some diseases and pests, facilitating its cultivation in open ground.
