Chrysanthemum Prometei

The Ukrainian Standard for Commercial Cut Flowers

The «Prometey» chrysanthemum is the result of long-term breeding efforts by the Pryluky Experimental Station of the NAAS, specifically developed for those engaged in industrial flower production. Unlike many imported hybrids that require highly specific greenhouse conditions and strict photoperiod control, «Prometey» is adapted to the climatic realities of Ukraine. This makes it a predictable and reliable tool for the local grower.

Why choose this variety?

• Resilience: The variety demonstrates high resistance to the temperature fluctuations typical of our latitudes during the autumn season, which is crucial for a late-blooming crop.
• Technical Efficiency: The plant features a sturdy stem that does not require complex staking, and an ideal inflorescence shape that simplifies transportation and packaging.
• Economic Viability: Thanks to Ukrainian breeding, the propagation material is more accessible than foreign counterparts, and its agronomic requirements help reduce unit production costs without sacrificing market quality.

Cultivation Nuances

The primary strength of «Prometey» lies in the stability of the cut stems. The flower retains its freshness in a vase for a long time, making it highly sought after by wholesalers and florists. However, like any professional-grade variety, it demands strict adherence to irrigation and fertilization schedules during the budding phase. It is not a «wild» flower but a selective product that will reward the grower with a high-quality yield only if the nutritional protocols are followed.

Who is this variety for? It is ideal for small and medium-sized farms focusing on the local market that want to produce competitive products without the risks associated with currency fluctuations or complex import logistics.
