Tulip Long Lady

A Regal Giant in Your Garden: Why Choose Long Lad

Among the simple late-flowering tulips, 'Long Lad' stands out primarily for its exceptional architecture. This is a true giant: its powerful flower stalk makes it a favorite for landscaping the back of flower beds and creating expressive vertical accents. While most classic tulips get lost against the backdrop of shrubs, 'Long Lad' dominates with its impressive stature.

Color Palette and Aesthetics

The visual profile of this variety is built on a striking combination of red and yellow. It is not just a bicolored tulip, but a play of contrasts that looks particularly intense during the late flowering period. Unlike early varieties that may fade under the May sun, 'Long Lad' retains its color depth until the final days of vegetation.

Health and Resilience: A Breeding Breakthrough

The main headache for bulb growers is fungal and viral infections. In this aspect, the variety proves to be one of the most stable in its class. Genetic resistance to three critical threats—Fusarium, Alternaria, and Tobacco Mosaic Virus—makes it a reliable choice for regions with damp springs and unpredictable weather.

• Who is it for: Landscapers working with multi-level compositions and gardeners who are tired of fighting bulb diseases.
• Strengths: Phenomenal height, immunity to key pathogens, long-lasting decorative appeal.
• Weaknesses: Due to its very tall stem, it requires sheltered areas protected from strong winds to prevent lodging.
