The winter garlic variety Kirovskiy is a mid-ripening, bolting variety with a distinctively sharp aroma, making it a desirable ingredient in every household. The bulbs of this garlic are large, round-flat in shape, with grey-white dry skins and cream-colored leathery inner layers. The weight of one bulb ranges from 50 to 120 grams and includes from 4 to 9 cloves with dense light-cream or white flesh and a semi-sharp taste. The plant reaches a height of 80-100 cm, has dark-green leaves of medium density up to 70 cm long and about 3 cm wide, covered with a waxy bloom. The variety belongs to the mid-late ripening group, maturing in June, and is distinguished by high winter hardiness and drought resistance.
The planting of Kirovskiy garlic is carried out in autumn, from early September to the end of October. In spring, the seeds sprout, and until the formation of bulbs, the plant does not require special care; it is sufficient to weed the beds in time and remove the scapes. Due to the high content of useful substances, including essential oils, vitamins of groups B, C, E, PP, as well as phytoncides, this garlic variety is an indispensable helper at the first signs of a cold and contributes to strengthening the immune system.
In addition to fresh garlic, dried Kirovskiy garlic retains all its beneficial properties and aroma due to the high content of essential oils and phytoncides. Flakes of dried garlic are easily crushed and can be used as aromatic breading for meat dishes, sausages, and cutlets. To maximally preserve the beneficial qualities of dried garlic, it is recommended to add it to dishes 3-4 minutes before completion, which allows its rich taste and aroma to be revealed.
